True Blood actor Denis O'Hare took advantage of New York's same-sex marriage bill on Thursday by wedding his longtime partner.

The Tony-award winning actor, who plays villainous vampire Russell Edgington in the hit TV show, married interior designer Hugo Redwood in a ceremony in the Big Apple, where politicians voted to allow gay unions last month.

He told fans of his happy news on Twitter.com, writing, "Okay. It happened. Hugo and I just got married."

O'Hare went on to upload a picture of him and his partner at the courthouse.
