Madonna's New Film To Premiere At Venice Film Festival
Madonna's new royal movie is to have its world premiere at this year's Venice Film Festival.
W.E. is the pop icon's sophomore directorial effort, and charts the scandalous relationship between King Edward VIII and American divorcee Wallis Simpson. The monarch abdicated from his royal position in 1936 after their love affair became public.
The film, which has received a glowing response following a test screening, will be shown out of competition at the prestigious festival, which runs from August 31st to September 10th.
James D'Arcy and Andrea Riseborough play Edward and Simpson respectively.
