'Captain America' Replaces 'Harry Potter' At Top Of Box Office
Captain America has broken the spell of Harry Potter and powered his way to the top of the box office chart with an opening weekend haul of $65.8 million.
The new Hollywood blockbuster, starring Chris Evans as the patriotic superhero, replaces Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 at number one, with the eighth and final installment of the boy wizard franchise slipping into second place.
The magic of Potter is still going strong - the film made $48 million in its second week on release, boosting its total U.S. takings to $274.1 million.
Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake's romantic comedy Friends With Benefits is a new entry at three with $18.5 million, while Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Horrible Bosses round out the new countdown at four and five, respectively.
