Ne-Yo Holds Free Concert For The Troops
R&B star Ne-Yo celebrated Independence Day weekend by hosting a free concert for U.S. troops. The So Sick hit-maker held the gig at an army base in Fort Hamilton, New York on Saturday.
Before taking to the stage, Ne-Yo, met soldiers and their families and held a press conference to tell reporters about how the show came together.
He said, "It's something that we were trying to put together for a little while. Just a way for me to show my appreciation for what it is that the troops do. I'm out here supporting the people who support me, and my free way of life. I'm happy to be here."
The star then performed a number of his hits, including Miss Independent and One In A Million, before giving a message to the overseas troops: "Keep your heads up, and know that people back here at home are missing you everyday and praying for you everyday 'hurry up and come on back.'"
