Rocker Gregg Allman is playing through the pain as he tours Europe - he feels like he's been hit "with a sledgehammer" a year after undergoing a liver transplant.
The Allman Brothers Band star went under the knife in his battle with Hepatitis C last summer, but he ignored pleas for a long recovery to get back on the road. Speaking about the operation, he tells Reuters, "(It was) the most horrendous pain I have ever been through."
He is currently performing a string of dates with his group The Gregg Allman Band, although he admits he's struggling through the shows.
Allman says, "I feel like someone hit me with a sledgehammer. But I'm alive."
The musician, 63, is expected to undergo further treatment once he wraps the North American leg of his tour in September.
