British singer Melanie Brown has apologized for making an inappropriate comment about date rape, insisting she "did not mean to offend anyone."
 
The former Spice Girls star caused controversy with a post on Twitter in which she told fans, "My husband is asleep. I think I may date rape him!"
 
The message sparked outrage from her followers and Brown has now apologised for the remark.
 
She writes, "Sorry for the 'date rape comment' I did not mean to offend anyone at all my sincere apologies!"
