Actor Gilles Marini has bounced back from the cancellation of his family drama Brothers & Sisters by landing a role as a dad on hit new series Switched At Birth.
The Sex and the City: The Movie star was left without a job last month when ABC network bosses chose not to renew the show, which also starred Calista Flockhart and Sally Field, for a sixth season.
However, Marini has already landed a new TV gig, scoring the role of Angelo on another drama.
TV Guide magazine first revealed the news and Marini confirmed it in a post on his Twitter.com page on Wednesday, writing, "As you may know now I joined the cast of Switched at Birth as Bay's biological father."
Switched at Birth, about two teenagers who discover they were mistakenly swapped at birth premiered on TV last week and became the highest-rated premiere in the history of TV network ABC Family.
The drama also features Back to the Future star Lea Thompson.
