The Weinstein Company Picks Up Madonna's Directorial Debut
Madonna has been given a big movie boost - her directorial debut has a distributor.
Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and his Weinstein Company have acquired U.S. distribution rights to W.E., a film which Madonna also co-wrote.
The movie, which was shot in London last year, chronicles King Edward VIII and American divorcee Wallis Simpson's historic romance and that of a modern-day couple.
The film features Abbie Cornish and Oscar Issac.
