Gwen Stefani is struggling with her roles as a celebrity mom and rock star - because she can't just hit the road or the studio without a care in the world.
The No Doubt star admits she found out just how tough life would be as a rock star mom when she returned to the studio to work with her band in 2008 - because she couldn't find the time to fix a bad case of writer's block.
She tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "My day consists of waking up with babies, and then working out, my clothing lines, and picking them up from school, and then rolling into the studio at 4:30 - and you only have a few hours before you have to be up with the kids again. And I can't do it five days a week. I have to be home with them for dinner."
And Stefani admits the touring experience has changed drastically now she hits the road with her sons Kingston and Zuma.
She adds, "All of a sudden, these other humans joined in, little tiny ones that are really demanding. It's challenging, especially for me because I'm the mom. They're (bandmates) just the dads... They have their wives with them. I don't have my wife with me."
But there is one big perk: "I would sleep the whole tour and just wake up to do the show. But you take (the kids) places on the days off. We've seen, like, every museum in every city of the world."
