Actress Marilu Henner has been left devastated by the death of her Taxi co-star Jeff Conaway, after visiting the star in the hospital "almost daily" over the past few weeks.
The Grease actor was admitted to the Encino Hospital Medical Center in California on May 11 after he was found unconscious at his home.
Doctors diagnosed him with pneumonia and sepsis, a potentially fatal blood poisoning caused by a bacterial infection, and he remained in a coma.
Henner and fellow Taxi co-star Tony Danza regularly visited Conaway in the hospital during his health battle and the actress has spoken of her sadness following his death on Friday.
She tells E! News, "Jeff was like a brother to me. Tony Danza and I visited Jeff in the hospital almost daily over the past two weeks.
"We saw how much love surrounded him, along with his sisters, Michelle and Carla, his wife, Kerri, his ex-wife, Rona, and his friend, Lance. Jeff looked the healthiest I'd seen him in a long time and I really thought that he was going to come out of this.
"I will miss my talented, handsome, loving friend so much."
Conaway passed away at the age of 60 a day after his family decided to switch off his life support machine on Thursday.
