Stone Sour Cancels Tour After Drummer Has A Stroke
Stone Sour cancelled the rest of their U.S. tour after drummer Roy Mayorga suffered a minor stroke.
The group was performing in their home town of Des Moines, Iowa, last week when Mayorga fell ill following the gig.
And now the band has scrapped the rest of their dates to allow the musician time to recover.
A statement on the band's website reads, "It is with regret that we have decided to cancel the remaining dates on our current headline tour. Our friend and drummer, Roy Mayorga suffered a minor stroke a couple of nights ago after our show in Des Moines. He's doing great and is expected to make a 100% recovery. We apologize to all the fans and look forward to getting back out on the road with Roy in the coming months."
Meanwhile, in a post on Twitter, frontman Corey Taylor writes, "Thank you so much everyone. I know Roy appreciates all your love and thoughts. I do as well. We will keep you all posted about everything."
The health crisis comes a year after Taylor's Slipknot bandmate Paul Gray lost his life after overdosing in a hotel room.
