Beloved actress Mary Tyler Moore is recovering after undergoing a four-hour operation to remove a tumor from her brain.
The TV veteran's spokesperson revealed on Thursday that the star had been diagnosed with the meningioma, a benign tumor of the brain's lining tissue, several years ago and had been monitored by doctors ever since.
Her physician decided it was time to take action and take the 73 year old into surgery, and the actress' publicist has confirmed that the procedure went well.
The rep tells People.com, "According to her surgeon, she tolerated the procedure without difficulty and is recovering nicely with her husband at her bedside. (She) will require no additional treatment."
