'Songs For Japan' Raises $5 Million For Earthquake & Tsunami Relief
Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Justin Bieber and Rihanna have helped to raise $5 million for Japan's earthquake/tsunami relief effort through the release of a charity compilation.
The pop stars were among a host of artists who offered up their hits for inclusion on "Songs for Japan," a digital-exclusive collection, with all profits going towards the Japanese Red Cross relief appeal.
The project, which also includes tracks by Bon Jovi, Shakira, Foo Fighters and Adele, has proven to be a huge success and Reuters reports that organizers handed over a check for $2 million last month, and another $3 million was donated on Monday.
