The latest movie in the "Fast & The Furious" film franchise has raced to the top of the box office with the biggest opening of 2011.
"Fast Five," which stars regulars Paul Walker and Vin Diesel and newcomer Dwayne Johnson, took in $83.6 million over the weekend to score the biggest debut in the franchise's history.
The film also set a record for the best April debut ever, breaking the previous mark set by the fourth "Fast & The Furious" movie, which opened with $71 million in 2009.
Director Justin Lin's "Fast Five" is also doing big business around the globe, making and extra $81.4 million overseas.
