Jamiroquai Cancel Concert After Technician's Death
British funk stars Jamiroquai have cancelled their Thursday night concert in Lyon, France after a tragic accident at the venue claimed the life of one of the band's tour technicians.
The group was due to perform at the city's Halle Tony Garnier Arena but they called off the show after the unnamed man fell from the stage on Thursday morning and suffered fatal injuries. A police investigation into the accident is now underway.
The news was confirmed in a post on the band's Facebook.com page, which reads, "Due to a tragic accident at the Halle Toni Garnier Arena, the gig at Lyon on 24th March is regrettably cancelled. The band were shocked and saddened when told the news, and out of respect immediately felt the right decision was to cancel the show."
"A police investigation is taking place which would also have prevented the show from happening."
No more details were available as WENN went to press.
