David CassidyDavid Cassidy is seeking compensation from bosses behind his hit 1970s show "The Partridge Family" after alleging he was left out of highly profitable merchandising deals.

The singer/actor shot to fame as Keith Partridge on the popular program and went on to establish himself as a pop star.

But Cassidy admits he had no idea how much money ABC network chiefs had made from the sale of products branded with the sitcom until recently - and the star, now 60, is in negotiations to cash in on the success himself.

He tells breakfast show "Today," "I was told after the show was over, The Partridge Family became the most successful financially because of merchandising and I had no part in it. They owed me a lot and I never received it, but they're making an effort to compensate me a little bit."
