"Twilight" star Kristen Stewart has been approached to play Snow White in a new adaptation of the popular fairy tale. Studio bosses are looking to cast the actress in the lead role of their upcoming fantasy film, "Snow White and the Huntsman," according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Charlize Theron has already been cast as the evil queen, while Viggo Mortensen and Michael Fassbender have both been linked to the Huntsman role. Actresses including Riley Keough, Felicity Jones, Alicia Vikander and Emily Browning are said to have auditioned for the part of Snow White, but producers are holding out for Stewart.
It would be Stewart's first project with a major studio since shooting to fame as Bella Swan in the "Twilight" franchise. She has since starred in a number of low-budget independent movies including "The Runaways" and "Adventureland."
