Beverly Hills, 90210 star Luke Perry has spoken out over the recent backlash that MTV has been getting over their risque new show, Skins.

"It's pretty hypocritical of MTV; they kicked [Andrew] Dice Clay off for life because he dropped one F-bomb, and if you think about it, what's going on here is doing a lot more damage than that," he says.

Skins has come under fire from several media outlets and is being investigated by the Parents Television Council (PTC) over showing underage actors in sex scenes.

"[C]ertainly we got criticized in our day for doing some stuff that was racy... but it seems it's more exploitative than informative, a lot of the television that's on today," Perry added.
