The Coen Brothers' "True Grit" has taken over at the top of the box office after a strong third weekend on release.
The film, starring Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon, fell behind chart-topper "Little Fockers" over Christmas, but it has replaced the comedy in the new box office estimates with a $15 million take.
"Little Fockers" slips to second with $13.8 million.
Nicolas Cage's supernatural thriller "Season of the Witch" debuts at three with $10.7 million, while Gwyneth Paltrow's country-music drama "Country Strong" enters the box office chart at six with a disappointing $7.3 million take.
