Ed O'Neill Says Jane Lynch Should Not Have Won An Emmy
Actor Ed O'Neill insists Glee star Jane Lynch doesn't deserve the Emmy Award she won in August - because she plays a "one-note character" as cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester.
Lynch was delighted after picking up the Outstanding Supporting Actress trophy for her turn as acid-tongued Sylvester in the hit musical TV series.
However, former Married With Children star O'Neill insists the win was undeserved, as the role doesn't show off Lynch's full range of talents.
He tells TVGuide.com, "I love Jane, honestly I do. I'm dying to star in one of Christopher Guest's movies alongside her, but I don't think she should have gotten the Emmy for that part. (Sue Sylvester) is just a one-note character."
O'Neill insists the accolade should have been handed to his Modern Family co-star Sofia Vergara, adding: "Sofia is just so, so funny. I don't think people realize how hilarious she is. She's so sharp with her wit, it's amazing."
