Troubled rapper DMX is facing eight months behind bars after his latest arrest in Phoenix, Arizona on Thursday.
The hip-hop star, real name Earl Simmons, has been in and out of prison in recent months and is accused of violating his parole by using cocaine, driving on a suspended licence and failing to check in with his probation officer.
He was taken into custody in Maricopa County on Thursday and is being held without bail until his court hearing next week.
Prosecutors want his parole revoked and his manager, Nakia Walker, admits there is a strong possibility DMX will have to serve more time as punishment.
Walker tells XXLMag.com, "Earl sometimes has a hard time following the rules, that's all. He didn't check in with his probation officer and pretty much (they) extended their hand and they violated him."
The rapper completed his most recent prison stint in August after serving 18 days of a 90-day sentence in connection with a reckless driving conviction from 2002.
