Charlie Sheen and estranged wife Brooke Mueller's separation was sealed in court on Monday after lawyers filed divorce papers.
The couple split after the "Two and a Half Men" star was arrested following a fight with Mueller in Aspen, Colorado on Christmas Day, during which he allegedly threatened to kill her.
Sheen pleaded guilty to a charge of misdemeanor assault in August and was sentenced to 30 days in jail, which was suspended pending his completion of a court-ordered rehab programme in Malibu, California.
The couple never reconciled and, on Monday, divorce papers were filed, according to TMZ.com.
The estranged pair will share joint legal custody of their twin sons, Bob and Max, and Sheen will pay Mueller $55,000 a month in child support.
The documents state, "Under no circumstances shall the child support paid by Charlie for Bob and Max be less than the child support paid by Charlie to (ex-wife) Denise Richards for (daughters) Sam and Lola."
Sheen will keep the family home, but will pay Mueller around $1 million, as well as a lump sum parting gift of $757,689, and other cash amounts, reports the website.
Mueller spoke out to support her estranged husband last week following his infamous New York hotel meltdown, branding the actor "a survivor."
