'Saw 3D' Wins Halloween Weekend Box Office

Saw 3DHorror movies dominated the box office over Halloween weekend with "Saw 3D" beating out "Paranormal Activity 2" as the nation's top film.
 
The seventh installment in the series about psychokiller Jigsaw debuted at number one with $24.2 million - bumping "Paranormal Activity 2," with a gross of $16.5 million, to the second spot.
 
The low budget horror hit broke box office records last weekend by scoring the biggest three-day opening for a horror film, and now boasts a 10-day total of nearly $65.7 million.
 
The success of the documentary-style film kept Bruce Willis' action release "Red" at three with $10.8 million, while outrageous stunt film "Jackass 3-D" slipped from two to four with $8.4 million in earnings.
 
Matt Damon's supernatural film "Hereafter," directed by Clint Eastwood, rounds out the top five with a weekend total of $6.3 million.
