Pop star Katy Perry wed funnyman Russell Brand in an hour-long Hindu ceremony in India on Saturday.
Amid tight security to keep photographers at bay, the I Kissed a Girl hitmaker tied the knot with her British fiance in front of close family and friends at the exotic resort of Aman-I-Khas in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The couple began the traditional service by worshipping a statue of Lord Ganesh before walking to a specially-designed gazebo where they sat on ornate thrones as a Hindu priest performed the ceremony, according to Britain's Daily Telegraph.
Other rituals observed by Perry and Brand as part of the wedding reportedly included walking around a sacred fire seven times while reciting Sanskrit mantras.
They are believed to have sealed their partnership by tying a special wedding scarf together.
Perry was rumored to have worn a sari and a white western gown for the wedding, while Brand sported a traditional henna tattoo on his hand.
It is unclear whether celebrity guests including Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Rihanna attended.
A team of private security guards patrolled the perimeter of the venue during the service to ward off photographers, and parts of the resort were shielded from view by black sheets.
