Promoters Sued Over Drake No-Show
Two music promoters have been hit with a $50,000 lawsuit alleging they reneged on a deal to arrange concerts starring rappers Drake and Soulja Boy.
Bosses at show organizers 80s Baby claim they booked several acts, including R&B singer Ciara and hip-hop star Plies, to perform at two gigs in Texas last year.
They handed over a total of $47,500 as deposits to secure the artists - but claim promoters Carlos Goodspeed and Jason 'DJ J Rudd' Rudd failed to deliver and then refused to hand back the cash.
According to AllHipHop.com, papers were filed at Dallas District Court, Texas on Monday alleging Goodspeed was "fake booking" the stars.
The lawsuit is seeking the return of the deposit money and additional damages for fraud, breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation, and theft of service.
