Demi Lovato has followed in the footsteps of her fellow teen sensation Miley Cyrus by quitting Twitter.

"Hannah Montana" superstar Cyrus stopped tweeting her online followers last year, urging her fans to do the same and stop living in a virtual reality.

And "Camp Rock" star Lovato has followed suit - she closed her account, which is followed by 2.5 million fans, on Friday.

In her final tweet, she writes, "I love my fans so much but the access that the other people have is uncomfortable to me. Twitterbreak. Peace."
