Paul McCartneyPaul McCartney and TV titan Oprah Winfrey will be feted by President Barack Obama this December as part of the annual Kennedy Center Honors.

The Beatles legend was previously set to receive the award in 2002 but was forced to back out of the ceremony due to a personal commitment.  This time around, McCartney will be joined by Winfrey, as well as country singer Merle Haggard, Broadway composer Jerry Herman and dancer, choreographer and director Bill T. Jones, the co-creator of hit musical Fela!.

The 33rd annual Kennedy Center Honors, which recognize performing artists for their contributions to American culture, will take place at the White House in Washington, D.C. on December 5th.
