Ellen Pompeo is taking steps to stamp out rumors she has six toes on either foot by laughing off the bizarre reports through her Grey's Anatomy boss Shonda Rhimes.

The actress was spotted walking through Hollywood with sandals on earlier this week and seemed to be sporting an extra digit on both her feet.
 
However, subsequent snaps showed the freaky look was down to an unflattering camera angle - and Grey's Anatomy creator Rhimes has gone online to make a joke of the claims.

On her Twitter.com page, Rhimes writes, "Pompeo and I are still laughing. She says to tell everyone the rumors are wrong - she has SEVEN toes on each foot!"
