Scruffy Drew Barrymore wants to hire an aide during her promotional trips for "Going The Distance" - to keep her hotel suite clean and tidy.
 
The actress, who took on directing duties for the new movie, admits she is a "disaster" in private, and her habits are so messy her hotel rooms look as though they've been trashed by a rock band.
 
And she's become so frustrated with the state of her accommodation, she plans to take on a hired hand to help out.
 
Barrymore tells Stylist magazine, "When it comes to directing I'm as fastidious as it gets. I'm homework oriented, I'm diligent, I'm disciplined and inexhaustible. But my real life is a disaster. You should see my hotel room right now. It looks like (punk legend) Sid Vicious is living there. It's absolutely nuts. I need to call somebody to help because it's starting to look weird. I'm just a mess. My desk is a mess. I'm never organized. I lose everything."
