Fantasia Barrino returned to the stage on Friday night three weeks after her failed suicide attempt.

The former American Idol star survived a drug overdose earlier this month and later shocked fans by insisting the scare wasn't an accident and she meant to take her own life.

Barrino recently declared she wanted to put the incident behind her and move forward with her music career - and she took the first step on Friday night by taking the stage in Las Vegas to perform for the first time since her hospitalization.
 
During her show at Rain nightclub, the singer told the crowd, "They thought I was finished, they thought I was done, they counted me out. But I will never, ever stop. I don't care what nobody say about me... Don't let your haters stop you. Don't let nobody stand in the way of your destiny."
