Police Called Over Samantha Ronson's 'Inappropriate' Music
A charity party planner has leaped to the defense of DJ Samantha Ronson after police were called to shut down a recent benefit, amid complaints she was playing loud and "inappropriate" music.
Ronson was on the turntables at the Brazilian Sunflowers event in Southampton, New York, on Saturday when the cops were called and she was ordered to shut down.
One partygoer tells the New York Post an upset reveler called the police because he felt her techno music set list didn't match the mood of the Brazilian bossa nova-themed event.
Guest Neil Wolfson explains, "The crowd was primed for this mellow music, and she came on and started playing techno, inappropriate for the crowd."
But a party organizer has brushed off the controversy, insisting cops allowed the event to continue after realizing the complaint was from an unhappy reveler.
