Hollywood heartthrob Zac Efron has laughed off reports he splashed out $2,000 during a recent night out at a New York strip club.

The 22 year old hit the headlines after a late night out at the Flashdancers Gentlemen's Club on Broadway with his former High School Musical co-star Corbin Bleu on Sunday. Reports suggested that by the time the pair left in the early hours of Monday morning, Efron had spent thousands on the dancers.

However, the actor has brushed off the claims, insisting he hardly spent anything at the raunchy club.

He explains, "I'm not really the type of guy that does that type of thing often... No, not at all. It was like $6. I don't remember. I don't think I opened my wallet. It was more of a celebratory thing."
