Rush Fan Sues Over Cancelled Concert
A furious Rush fan is suing the rockers after they allegedly cancelled a concert due to rain. The Canadian band was due to perform at Northerly Island in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday but called off the show after showers hit the area.
However, Christopher Langone maintains the band should have made it to the stage despite the adverse weather conditions, claiming the event was billed as a "rain or shine" event on tickets and promotional materials. The 42 year old, who flew from New York to attend the gig, has filed a breach of contract lawsuit against the stars.
The lawsuit states: "After the announcement of cancellation, rain was not significant in Chicago. For example, the Chicago White Sox completed a game in the weather in Chicago on the evening of July 7, 2010."
Langone tells the Chicago Sun-Times, "I traveled here to Chicago to see the show with old friends. I've been a lifelong fan of Rush and we were very disappointed they cancelled the show...especially when (the rain) stopped."
Langone is seeking reimbursement for his ticket, as well as his airfare and assorted travel expenses.
