Scissor Sisters Shun Emirates Shows
The Scissor Sisters have ruled out playing gigs in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) any time soon - they're convinced they'd fall foul of the region's strict drug laws.
The I Don't Feel Like Dancin' hit-makers have been scared off scheduling shows in the Emirates after hearing stories of tourists jailed for having traces of narcotics on their clothing.
Singer Ana Matronic tells Britain's Q magazine, "I have it on good authority that I will get arrested in the UAE. Just by brushing up against some of my friends I would have so much cocaine residue on my clothes I would have to spend the rest of my life in jail. I've heard you can go to jail for having trace amounts on your clothes, because the drug laws are so insane there."
Fellow singer Jake Shears adds, "Yes, we still have some work to do before we get an invite to the United Arab Emirates."
