Ozzy Osbourne has revealed the real reason behind his shambling appearance on reality show The Osbournes - he smoked pot in a secret room hidden from the cameras.

The former Black Sabbath frontman entertained viewers with his confused behavior and rambling monologues when film crews moved into the family home in Los Angeles.

The rocker later blamed his bizarre antics on the range of prescription pills he was taking - but he's now confessed he had a secret den where he puffed marijuana joints away from the glare of the cameras.

He tells Britain's Sunday Times Magazine, "While filming The Osbournes I was also shoving 42 types of prescription medication down my neck, morning, noon and night - and that was before all the dope I was smoking in my 'safe' room, away from the cameras."
