Will Ferrell Wows Baseball Fans With Latest Comedy Creation
Will Ferrell introduced baseball fans to his latest comedy sports character when he showed up to pitch at a minor league game over the weekend.
The funnyman, who has played ice skaters, racing car drivers and basketball stars in sports comedies, took to the mound as Billy-Ray 'Ro-Jo' Johnson for the Round Rock Express in their Saturday night clash against the Nashville Sound in Texas.
Ferrell, sporting a comedy moustache and an Express uniform, carried a six-pack out with him, and knocked back a few beers in between pitches.
He threw one inaccurate pitch and then staged a fake quarrel with the opposing batter, throwing his baseball glove at him and then spraying him with beer as the slugger chased him around the field, much to the amazement of fans, who had no idea who Ferrell was.
He later took to the field to a standing ovation and explained the stunt was staged to promote an upcoming charity golf tournament in nearby Austin, Texas.
