Randy QuaidFelony burglary charges against Randy Quaid and his wife Evi have been dropped just days after the couple were jailed for failing to show up at court.

The couple had been charged with defrauding an innkeeper after failing to settle a $10,000 bill following a 2009 stay at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California.

They were also facing conspiracy and burglary charges, but prosecutors have decided to drop the case.

The "Brokeback Mountain" star and his wife were released from prison on Monday after posting $100,000 bail each.

The Quaids were jailed by a judge in Santa Barbara to make sure they returned for a planned hearing on Wednesday after a series of court no-shows.

Superior Court Judge Frank Ochoa told the couple they had been disrespectful by refusing to show up for arranged court dates, including one they missed earlier this month.

The pair was then taken into custody - but spent less than four hours behind bars.

Now, their lawyer, Robert Sanger, is delighted his clients have been able to resolve the case without a trial.

The pair pleaded not guilty to all charges in December.

All charges against the actor have been dropped; his wife has been placed on probation for three years after she pleaded no contest in court on Wednesday to a misdemeanor count of defrauding an innkeeper.

She has also been sentenced to serve 240 hours of community service.
