Action remake "Clash Of The Titans" has conquered the competition at the box office, debuting at number one with $61.4 million in earnings at the weekend.
The blockbuster, starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes, has made a total of $64.1 million in the U.S. including preview screenings on Thursday night.
"Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?" was runner-up with $30.2 million in ticket sales - marking a triumph for singer/actress Janet Jackson, who went to work on the comedy just a day after her brother, the late Michael Jackson, was laid to rest in June.
Meanwhile, animated adventure "How to Train Your Dragon" slipped from the top spot to three with $29.2 million, and now boasts a 10-day total of $92.3 million.
Miley Cyrus' new drama "The Last Song" debuted at number four with $16.2 million, while Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" slipped from two to five with nearly $8.3 million in earnings. Burton's whimsical collaboration with Johnny Depp now boasts a five-week total of nearly $309.8 million.
