Placido Domingo Returns To Work After Cancer Surgery
Spanish opera star Placido Domingo has returned to work in Los Angeles, just weeks after undergoing surgery for cancer.
The tenor, 69, went under the knife at New York's Mount Sinai Hospital earlier this month to have a cancerous polyp removed from his colon.
He has been spending his time recuperating in Barcelona, Spain and more recently Acapulco, Mexico, but he flew to California on Thursday where he resumed his post as director of the Los Angeles Opera Company.
Domingo's first job will be organising rehearsals for a production of Simon Boccanegra at Italy's La Scala in April, reports the Los Angeles Times.
