Reality TV star Heidi Montag is begging moviemaker Ron Howard to remake mermaid movie "Splash" because she wants to play Daryl Hannah's role.
 
"The Hills" star, who is about to make her big screen debut in Adam Sandler comedy "Just Go With It," has always been a big fan of the 1984 film, which also featured a young Tom Hanks - and she thinks she'd be a perfect mermaid.
 
Montag says, "Splash is one of my favorites... I wanna do the remake; I wanna be the mermaid. I think I could play her pretty well."
 
The TV star has revealed she approached Howard with the idea when they teamed up recently to make a FunnyOrDie.com online skit about plastic surgery.
