50 Cent Laughs Off Sex Tape Lawsuit
50 Cent has dismissed a lawsuit filed against him by the ex-girlfriend of rival rapper Rick Ross after he released a spoof version of a sex tape she recorded in 2008.
Lastonia Leviston took legal action against the In Da Club star last month, accusing him of posting the explicit video on his website last year.
In papers filed in New York's Manhattan Supreme Court, Leviston claimed 50 blurred out her then-lover Maurice Murray's face and altered the tape to depict himself as his online character Pimpin' Curly wearing a curly wig and blue robe, while adding his own narration. She is demanding compensation for the unauthorized use of her name or image, as well as emotional distress caused by the public release of the clip.
However, 50 Cent has laughed off the legal threat, insisting Leviston should be looking to punish Ross instead for allegedly referring to his ex as a "call girl" in his music.
He says, "That wasn't me that was Pimpin' Curly! A person tries to say you've done mental harm to them, then they may want to consider the recordings of Rick Ross saying that she's an actual call girl... So how distraught is she that a tape went out?"
