Embattled actress Mackenzie Phillips has put her year of shocking revelations behind her by spending $50,000 on a cosmetic overhaul.
 
The star shocked fans last year when she released her book High on Arrival, in which she revealed she had been involved in a decade-long sexual relationship with her father, The Mamas & the Papas star John Phillips.
 
She has since had to deal with family criticism and banishment and accusations her tell-all prompted half-sister Chynna Phillips to check into rehab for anxiety issues.
 
And now the actress is facing up to her critics - with a new face.
 
The 50 year old debuted her enhanced features on U.S. TV on Wednesday, and reveals she spent $50,000 on Botox, Restylane and laser treatments to her face, and underwent almost two days worth of dental and hair work.
 
But Phillips insists she isn't trying to escape her turbulent past - which includes serious drug addiction and arrests - with the help of beauty treatments.
 
She says, "I've no desire to erase anything. I'm really happy."
