Gabriella Cilmi: 'I Don't Hate Lady Gaga'
Cilmi's comments led to her fleeing last year's BRITs to avoid a backstage confrontation with her rival - but she has now insisted her words were taken out of context and she doesn't hate Gaga.
Cilmi tells Scotland's Sunday Mail, "Last year at the BRITs, Lady Gaga came out on a freezing cold day wearing little shorts. I said to some reporters I didn't understand how she could go out on such a cold day in little shorts. It came out as if I was criticizing her, suggesting she was disgusting."
"Then she pointed at me backstage with a withering look and my manager had to get me out of there. I didn't really get her at first but I loved her performance at the Grammys with Elton John and I think she is a really talented songwriter. I don't hate Lady Gaga and anyway, I think she is over it."
