Ryan Reynolds Misses Scarlett Johansson's Broadway Debut
Celebrities including Hugh Jackman, Heroes star Zachary Quinto and Schreiber's wife Naomi Watts turned out for the play's opening night - but Johansson's key supporter was a notable absence from the audience.
The X-Men Origins: Wolverine star was due to jet into the city from Utah, where he was promoting his upcoming movie Buried at the Sundance Film Festival. A source tells People.com, "(Reynolds) missed his flight and needed to take a later flight."
However, the Lost in Translation beauty refused to let Reynolds' absence put a dampener on her big night. Speaking to People.com shortly after her Broadway debut, she said, "It's very exciting. It's kind of unbelievable actually. I never thought I would be debuting on Broadway in an Arthur Miller play."
Nevertheless, Johansson admitted she was a nervous wreck just weeks prior to her Broadway bow because she was so scared she'd mess up.
She added, "Before we did the first preview a few weeks ago, I felt the feeling of doom - like I was going to forget something or everything! But tonight, because we've been in previews, I was more excited than nervous."
