Lionel Richie & Quincy Jones To Re-Record 'We Are The World'
The original song, written by Jones and Michael Jackson, featured Richie, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Cyndi Lauper, Billy Joel and other artists. Proceeds from the single benefited African famine relief.
Co-producers Jones and Richie have reportedly invited Usher, John Legend and Natalie Cole and numerous other performers to record the updated anniversary edition, following last week's devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake.
A music video will accompany the new version.
