Pregnant actress Amy Adams made her fiancé wait to start a family - she promised to settle down and become a mom two years ago.

The Enchanted star is engaged to Darren LeGallo, and announced last month she is expecting the couple's first child.

Adams admits she first agreed to have a baby two years ago, but had to put off motherhood after signing up to a string of movie roles.

She says, "Two years ago my fiancé and I sat down and agreed it was time to start a family. Then I went off and did two more jobs. He's been very patient."
