Taylor SwiftA representative for DC Comics has dismissed rumors Taylor Swift is set to swoop into action in a new Supergirl movie.

The singer has made her first foray into acting in upcoming romantic comedy Valentine's Day, and she fueled rumors of a career change by insisting she would happily take on more movies.

The country star was subsequently linked to a role in a rumored remake of 1984 Superman spin-off Supergirl, which starred Helen Slater.

But a rep for DC Comics, the creators of Supergirl, has laughed off the reports - insisting Swift will not be fighting crime as a superhero anytime soon.

The spokesperson tells Scotland's Sunday Mail newspaper, "That's as clueless a thing as we've heard all year."
