Miley Cyrus faces an anxious pre-Christmas wait for her father Billy Ray Cyrus, who jetted out to Iraq for a week to spend time with troops stationed there.

The "Achy Breaky Heart" singer jumped at the chance to take a little Christmas cheer to the Middle East - but insisted on being with his family for Christmas Day.

Before jetting off to Iraq, he said, "I'm going to go to Iraq to play for the troops. I'll be up on Iraq until Christmas Eve, and then I'll reunite with the family in London."
