Reese Witherspoon ended her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal because she felt pressured to wed, according to reports.

Last month, rumors began circulating suggesting the Hollywood stars had called off their two-year romance, and the pair reportedly broke up for good earlier this month.

New reports claim Witherspoon ended the relationship to concentrate on her children, Ava, 10, and six-year-old Deacon, from her marriage to Ryan Phillippe.

And Gyllenhaal has been left devastated by the split, which "broke his heart" according to US Weekly magazine.

A source tells the publication, "No one cheated. There was no drama. She felt pressured to wed again but she wasn't ready... She couldn't give Jake enough and she got cold feet. Jake wanted all of her. She really worried that they didn't have enough in common. When she was giving all of her energy to Jake, she felt like she wasn't giving her kids enough. He was great with the kids, but she felt like he didn't get the whole scope of what that entailed."
