George Michael Defends Cruising For SexGeorge Michael has defended his decision to cruise public toilets for gay sex - insisting it's better than approaching potential partners in a bar.

The Faith hit-maker's sexual preferences were outed in 1998 when he was arrested for engaging in a lewd act in a public lavatory in California.

In 2006 he was again accused of engaging in anonymous public sex, this time on London's Hampstead Heath, and he was arrested in the same park last year after police found drugs in his possession.

However, Michael is quick to defend his actions when cruising for sex - insisting the environment is so much nicer than a nightclub.

He says, "The handful of times a year it's bloody warm enough, I'll do it. I'll do it on a nice summer evening. Quite often there are campfires up there. It's a much nicer place to get some quick and honest sex than standing in a bar, E'd (drugged) off your t*ts shouting at somebody and hoping they want the same thing as you do in bed. D'ya know what I mean?"

Michael has been in a long-term relationship with Kenny Goss since 1996.
